Letter from the President: Celebrating Valentine’s Day

Dear Friends,

In addition to February being a time for Carnival and King Cakes, this month is also the time of year we celebrate Valentine’s Day – a day of love.

With that in mind, I would like to share with you something dear to my heart – our mission of carrying out my Aunt Arlene Meraux’s wishes.

For the past three and a half years, our new Board has worked tirelessly with community leaders and nonprofit organizations to better the lives of the people of this parish.

We feel blessed to be able to carry forward her true vision for the Foundation that she so generously established.

From the recent Battle of New Orleans Bicentennial event to the upcoming AG Magic on the River, the Foundation is a true partner in education, with its schools and its teachers.

We are proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish and look forward to doing more great things in the future.

So this month as you celebrate with your loved ones, remember one of ours, Arlene Meraux – the visionary behind the Meraux Foundation.

As 2015 continues, we promise to make St. Bernard a great place to
live, work and visit.

Sincerely,

Rita Gue,
President of the Meraux Foundation
