The Meraux Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2024 scholarship awards, continuing its longstanding commitment to supporting education in St. Bernard Parish. This year, the Foundation has awarded a total of 70 scholarships to deserving students for academic achievement, artistic accomplishment, Career Technical Education (CTE), and agricultural studies.

Rita Gue, president of the Meraux Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for this year's scholarship recipients, saying, "We are thrilled to support these outstanding students as they pursue their educational goals. Education is at the heart of our mission, and we are proud to invest in the future leaders of St. Bernard Parish."

Each year, the Meraux Foundation invests in the future of St. Bernard Parish by awarding scholarships to students from local public schools. This year's recipients were selected through a rigorous process led by an independent committee designated by St. Bernard Parish Public Schools.

Among the 70 recipients, 50 scholarships are awarded for outstanding academic achievement, four for artistic accomplishment, and 15 for Career Technical Education (CTE) pursuits. Additionally, one student has been awarded a scholarship for an agricultural internship, highlighting the Meraux Foundation's commitment to supporting diverse educational pathways.

The 2024 academic scholarship recipients are: Bayan Altayeb, Carlos Andrade, Kaitlynn Barbe, Mya Billiot, Kylie Bordelon, Nicholas Brady Jr., Amari Brady, Hunter Brockhaus, Rynn Cantrell, Emily Collins, Ethan Couvillon, Olivia D`Antoni, Haley Dalmado, Salma Darawsheh, Logan Davis, Emma Domino, Ava Gagliano, Elmi Gonzalez, Katie Hambrice, Aniya Harris, Thien Hoang, Alex Jorns, Anthony Kurtz, Jhed Lafuente, Gabrielle Landry, Selina Li, Sadia Lopez, Tailyn Lopez, Mezeshabell Maghirang, Sophia Majors, Silvio Marcia Murillo, Jodee McMichael, Londyn Melerine, Jeffery Mitchell, Mackenzie Patton, Alivyah Peters, Grace Posey, Kenny Quach, Jeffrey Regan, Stone Riviere, Alysseah Roberts, Alayna Roig, Carleigh Schaefer, Peyton Scheeler, Olivia Spicuzza, Gabrielle Thore, Summer Tran, Stephanie Villatoro, Aubrey Villavaso, and Tania White.

The 2024 CTE scholarship recipients are: Jolei Asevedo, Peyton Campagna, Sophia Menant, Ethan Nata, Ryleigh Bertheaud, Brayen Canas, Jesse Cochrane, Robert Collins, Joshua Gonzalez, Evan Jacob, Ty`Yahana Martin, Kendall Meyer, Hunter Retif, Madison Rockwell, and Troy Sino Jr.

The 2024 arts scholarship recipients are: Kaitlyn Thomas, Paige Touchet, Camryn White, and Zander Wolfe. 

The 2024 agriculture scholarship recipient is: Mia Augustine.

Since its inception, the Meraux Foundation has awarded over 1,130 four-year scholarships, making a significant impact on the lives of students in St. Bernard Parish. The Foundation believes that investing in education is crucial to improving the quality of life in the community.

In addition to the scholarship program, the Meraux Foundation remains committed to supporting various educational initiatives. From sponsoring student events to partnering with local schools and organizations on educational programs, the foundation continues to play a vital role in promoting learning and growth in St. Bernard Parish.
