AgMagic on the River Returns to Docville Farm

The Meraux Foundation once again welcomed hundreds of families and students to its Docville Farm for AgMagic on the River, an interactive event celebrating Louisiana agriculture.

Held in partnership with LSU’s AgCenter, this year’s AgMagic continued its tradition of hands-on learning, featuring live animals and engaging exhibits on everything from alligator farming to crop science. Designed especially for third through sixth graders, the event gives students a chance to experience the importance of Louisiana’s natural resources in a fun and educational setting.

The 2025 event engaged over 2,000 students plus hundreds of educators and volunteers throughout the week in addition to hundreds of families on Saturday.

AgMagic on the River has become a signature event for the Meraux Foundation.

“We’re proud to bring this unique learning opportunity to our community,” said Rita Gue, president of the Meraux Foundation. “AgMagic sparks curiosity and shows students how agriculture and the environment impact their everyday lives.”

With another successful event in the books, planning is already underway for next year’s AgMagic on the River.
