Land Strategies
We’re implementing a dynamic strategy to ensure that the development of our landholdings improves our community.
Education
Education is a core component of our strategy for improving St. Bernard for the long term, and it is incorporated in virtually every one of the nonprofit’s programs.
Environment
Positioned on the delta of the Mighty Mississippi and with a coast that is one of the world’s most productive estuaries, St. Bernard’s natural beauty and resources are abundant. Yet, it faces a host of unique environmental challenges – challenges we’re working to leverage as opportunities.
Community Resilience
The people of St. Bernard are resilient – having weathered hurricanes, oil spills, the pandemic, and coastal land loss – yet we always pull together to come back stronger. We’re supporting this can-do hometown spirit through targeted recovery and resilience grants.
Arts and Culture
We’re nurturing St. Bernard’s unique culture and investing in the arts as a growth strategy. Our flagship initiative is St. Claude Arts, a campus of galleries, studios, and venues to support artists, the arts, and community resilience.
Economic Development
Leveraging our landholdings and through impact investments, our family foundation is growing an economy that works for the people of St. Bernard.
