Awards 60 Scholarships – Academic, Arts, and Vocational-Technical – to St. Bernard Parish Students

The Arlene and Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation announced it has awarded 60 scholarships to St. Bernard Parish 2017 high school graduates to pursue post secondary studies. The Foundation awarded 50 scholarships based on academic achievement, four based on artistic accomplishment, and six for vocational-technical school. To date, the Meraux Foundation has awarded more than 720 scholarships valued at some $2.2 million.

“Championing education and supporting students is an important part of what we do at the Meraux Foundation,” said Rita Gue, the president of the Meraux Foundation. “Education is the foundation upon which success is built, success for the individual, and also success for the Parish community.
